Things to keep in mind:

Only store food that does not need refrigeration. Use a plastic container for extra physical protection and store in a cool, dark place off the ground. Use extra absorption to lengthen storage time. Unused absorbers may be stored in a mason jar or vacuum sealed. All Mylar bags must be heat-sealed, (even zip locks) which is easily done with an iron or hair-straightening iron.

    Great bags

I thought that gusseted bags were the way to go until these became so cost effective with a subscription I made the switch and am happy I did, because when I lay the bags flat after sealing with an oxygen absorber, I come back the next day and the bags are nice and flat and they stack or file upright a lot better in storage containers that way, so it’s not a loss at all, turns out! Whereas, the gusseted bags I never layed flat like that, the food just pooled and settled into a lump at the gusset end, which made it bulkier when I went to store it.
