Patriotic Freeze Pops: Cool Off with a Red, White & Blue Treat!PackFreshUSA's Clear Freezer Pops filled with Red, White, & Blue punch for the 4th of July, celebrate America, Happy Birthday USA, Patriotic Freezer Pops,

When summer temperatures start climbing and the fireworks are getting ready to light up the night sky, there's nothing better than an ice-cold treat. Around our house, these Patriotic Freeze Pops have become a Fourth of July tradition. They're colorful, refreshing, incredibly easy to make, and they're just as much fun for the grandkids to help create as they are to eat!

One of my favorite things about these treats is that you can customize every pop. Whether you want beautiful red, white, and blue layers, fun swirls, or just a favorite flavor, there's no wrong way to make them. Using PackFreshUSA Freezer Pop Bags makes filling and freezing simple, and they store beautifully until it's time to celebrate America's birthday.

What You'll Need

  • PackFreshUSA Freezer Pop Bags
  • White Hawaiian Punch
  • Cherry Kool-Aid, Fruit Punch, or Cherry Hawaiian Punch
  • Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid, Blue Hawaiian Punch, or your favorite blue drink mix
  • Funnel or measuring cup with a spout
  • Tall cup or pitcher for easy filling

Optional Fresh Fruit

  • Fresh strawberry slices
  • Pitted Cherry bits
  • Whole blueberries

Fresh fruit adds a fun surprise inside each freeze pop and makes them look even more festive.

Building Your Patriotic Pops

Red Layer

Choose your favorite red drink.

Fill the freezer pop bag with your desired amount of red liquid. If you're making layered pops, freeze this layer first before adding the next color.

White Layer

White Hawaiian Punch creates a bright white center that really makes the patriotic colors stand out.

After the red layer has frozen, carefully add the white layer and freeze again.

Blue Layer

Finish with your favorite blue drink mix such as Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid or Blue Hawaiian Punch.

It is best to heat seal the freezer pop bag before the final layer is completely frozen, making it easier to remove excess air and create a tight seal. However, if you prefer, you can also wait until the pops are fully frozen before sealing. An impulse sealer or the "seal only" function on your vacuum sealer both work perfectly for sealing PackFreshUSA Freezer Pop Bags.

Once sealed, freeze until completely solid before serving or storing.

Fun Variations

Not every freeze pop has to be layered!

Try making:

  • Classic Red, White & Blue Layers
  • All Red Pops
  • All Blue Pops
  • Red and Blue Swirls
  • Strawberry Surprise Pops
  • Blueberry Blast Pops

Every batch looks a little different—and that's part of the fun!

Mimi's Tips

  • Freeze each layer before adding the next if you want crisp, defined stripes.
  • Place the filled freezer pop bags in a tall cup while filling to keep them standing upright.
  • Don't overfill the bags. Leave enough room at the top to seal and allow the liquid to expand while freezing.
  • If you're adding fruit, use small pieces so they're easy to enjoy as the pop melts.

Make a double batch—you'll be surprised how quickly these disappear during a backyard barbecue!

Perfect For

  • Fourth of July celebrations
  • Backyard BBQs
  • Family reunions
  • Pool parties
  • Camping trips
  • Neighborhood block parties
  • Summer picnics

These homemade freeze pops are inexpensive, colorful, and always bring smiles to both kids and adults.
