Honey
Honey is one of my must-haves! It adds a delicious sweetness to tea, oatmeal, or even a slice of warm bread. I recommend storing about 1 to 1.5 pounds of honey. Not only is it tasty, but it also has a long shelf life and doesn't spoil when stored properly. A little goes a long way, and it’s always nice to have on hand for both comfort and flavor.
Sugar
Sugar is a pantry staple and super easy to store. I suggest keeping around 10 pounds—either in two 5-lb bags or broken down into smaller amounts depending on your needs. Store it in gallon-size Mylar bags or even pint-size bags if you don’t use it very often. No need for oxygen absorbers—just seal it up, and sugar can last 20 to 30 years!
Brown Sugar

Brown sugar is another great sweetener to have around, especially for baking or adding depth to oatmeal and sauces. Store just what you need for your 3-month supply—no need to go overboard unless you use it regularly. I would just round up the .75 to 1 lb. to keep it easy.
Molasses & Corn Syrup

While molasses is excellent for making homemade brown sugar (just mix with white sugar!), I personally skip storing it since I already keep brown sugar on hand. Instead, I opt for pancake syrup, which fits my cooking habits better. It’s all about stocking what you’ll actually use.
Jams & Jellies

Jams add a burst of flavor to toast, yogurt, or baked goods. The general recommendation is about 0.75 lbs, but I like to keep three 10-ounce jars—one for each month. Pick a variety of flavors so you don’t get bored!
Flavored Jello

Jello is a fun and easy treat to keep in your pantry. I like to store two packages per month—that’s 6 servings per pack, giving you 12 sweet treats each month. It’s a great low-prep dessert, especially when you want something quick and cheerful.
Fruit Drink Mix

Don't forget to include a little flavor for your drinks! Fruit drink mixes are compact, easy to store, and add variety to your water intake. Great for hydration with a sweet twist. About 1 to 1.5 lbs is all you need to put away. I like storing the
Sweet staples like these can add comfort, variety, and joy to your food storage plan. Just remember to stock what you actually use and enjoy—your future self will thank you!
