Chex Mix: The Perfect Holiday Crunch

Chex Mix: The Perfect Holiday Crunch

Posted by Ola Griffin on Dec 19th 2024

I absolutely love giving food and treats to my neighbors and friends especially during the holiday season. Making easy Chex Mix recipes is not only a classic but a family favorite for many.

I made only two recipes this Christmas and they both are so delicious and will add the right touch to any holiday gathering. The festive Reindeer Chex Mix has the festive colors and the sweet and savory salty and chocolate flavors, and the Caramel Apple Chex mix will add the cinnamon flavor and sweet and tangy apple with caramel will make you want to reach for more. I am using the large and XL Stand Up Pouches. Puppy Chow Chex Mix is one of my other favorites, but we will save that one for another day.

Making Chex Mix for gifts using Stand Up Pouches is really easy and beautiful.

Reindeer Chex Mix is a classic mix with either a variety of Chex Mix or one type of cereal mix, so you can add your favorite one here. I used all Rice Chex, but adding a Chocolate Chex or part Corn Chex would be delicious as well.

Reindeer Chex Mix

REINDEE CHEX MIX

6 c Rice Chex

2 c Pretzels (small)

2 c Cheerios

1 c Christmas M&M’s

1 c powdered sugar (less or more as needed)

12 oz melts - I used white, but you can use the one you want.

3-4 tbsp of holiday sprinkles

  • Line a large cookie sheet with parchment or silica liner
  • In a large bowl or two medium bowls mix the top three ingredients.
  • Melt the chocolate melts (12 oz) or (½ of the 24 oz) almond bark per the direction of your package.
  • Pour the chocolate over the cereal and pretzels mix well.
  • Add the sprinkles.
  • Pour in the powdered sugar. (Use more or less as needed. I used 1 cup and once I spread out the mix on a lined baking sheet.) Coat the mixture well.
  • I like adding the M&M’s in after I add the powdered sugar.
  • Place on a cookie sheet and spread out and allow it to cool. Add more powder sugar and break the clumps up as needed.
  • Bag them up in Medium for more personal size, Large and XL bags for more family size gifts. Stand Up Pouches

* I use parchment paper to help fill the bags, sticking the parchment in a cone shape and place it in the middle of the Stand-Up Pouches.
